da doce: Crystal Palace have now entered the race to sign another “incredible” forward, despite already signing Brennan Johnson earlier this month.

Palace eyeing new forward amid poor form

da bet7k: Following the 3-1 defeat against Chelsea at Selhurst Park on Sunday, Palace have now gone 11 games without a win in all competitions, with Oliver Glasner bemoaning his side’s inability to take their opportunities against the Blues.

Glasner said: “It’s disappointing and frustrating. It looks like, right now, we are not good enough to win the game but we created our chances, we didn’t take them and then we made too many mistakes to give the opponents the chances, and they took them.”

Jean-Philippe Mateta once again failed to find the back of the net against Liam Rosenior’s side, squandering one big chance, and a tally of one goal in his last ten Premier League games is unlikely to have impressed potential suitors, such as Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Aston Villa.

With Mateta’s future still undecided, the Eagles are yet to bring in a new centre-forward, but they remain keen on strengthening their wide options, despite signing Johnson from Tottenham in a £35m deal earlier this month.

That is according to a report from Caught Offside, which states Crystal Palace have now entered the race to sign Fulham star Harry Wilson, who they are closely monitoring, as talks to extend his stay at Craven Cottage are at a standstill.

A plethora of rival Premier League clubs are also among the chasing pack, however, with Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Brentford and Leeds United also keen on the winger, whose agents are assessing options ahead of the summer transfer window.

The race for the Welshman’s signature could heat up in the summer, if he is unwilling to pen a new contract, but a formal bid could be made by one of the interested clubs this month.

Marco Silva has clearly been very impressed by the 28-year-old’s attacking output this season, saying earlier this month: “His numbers are top, incredible. Very humble, a hard worker always.”

In fairness, the Wrexham-born winger, who is represented by the same agency as Johnson, has been in fine form, having already broken his personal record for goal involvements across a Premier League season.

Not only has the right-winger caught the eye at club level this season, but he is also an established international, amassing 17 goals in 67 caps for Wales over the years.

Palace know first hand what Wilson is capable of, with the Fulham star scoring a remarkable goal against the Eagles at Craven Cottage back in December, and in light of his performances this season, which indicate he could be in his prime, the forward could be an excellent signing.
