They say that you should never go back in football, no matter how romantic a move it will be, it is more than likely that it won’t work out in the long run. There have been plenty of players and managers who have returned to their former club only to come to regret that decision. However, that doesn’t stop Premier League stars failing to learn from others’ mistakes and getting swept up in the romance of a return to old pastures. Tottenham and Newcastle seem to be two of the main culprits of this, but there are lots of other clubs who have fallen foul of a failed return, too.
